This was my first Fish In.  I fished with Larry and Jose. I appreciate them taking on a third man. I learned some new techniques. We all got skunked but had a great time on the water. Nice boat Larry. Lunch was very good. Thanks Chef Jose. I'm looking forward to April's Fish In

Fish In report for
Long Lake
Port Orchard
March 24th 2012

7 boats and 13 members and 2 guests showed up today at Long Lake. The water was high and heavily stained, and at some locations muddy. The temperature was 44.5 at Launch time and managed to rise up into to 46.5 degree range before we went in at 2:30pm. The mix of low temperatures and low water clarity are something I have made a note to be some of the toughest conditions possible. So it is no surprise to me that no bass were caught. However it was still a fun day on the water, especially after the sun came out. The wind was kinda rough on us who chose to fish the south end, the kind where you're standing on the troller the whole time you're fishing. For Lunch we had Chili dog appetizers, while Jose and Christy made a classic Spanish dish called Paella ( PIE-AY-AH). It really was a remarkable lunch! Everyone loved it and had fun watching them make it. Oh and Rodney caught a 14"trout.

Thanx everyone for showing up!!!
Glad we had a decent turn out

And I'm not letting the club vote on where we're going to have the next fish in anymore HAHAHAHA!  Grin

Its mid-night, I will most likely miss breakfast and head straight to the launch as I have to throw some tackle in the truck in the morn and hook up.

It's not a problem with the Ranger, it's a bearing problem on the trailer.  Just waiting on a part right now.

That said, G3 boats are awesome indeed.  I miss my aluminum boat.  You've caught a lot of big fish out of your boat.  Just goes to prove the fish don't care if you're in a fiberglass rocket or a car-topper. It's all about the skills of the person holding the rod!

Have fun guys!  Should be a great day!

Don't forget about the fish-in tomorrow at Long lake in Port Orchard.  It should be a great day to get out, especially since it is supposed to be the warmest day of the week and one of three days that have been above the agerage high this month!  Breakfast is at Shari's off of the Sedgewick exit at 6 am.
As an extra treat Jose has agreed to make Paella as long as the wind will allow it to happen.   Smiley Grin Smiley Should be yummy.  I will still bring chili dog makings for those who will want those instead.

We have had a few people say they are coming, but if you have not let us know please do so I know how much food to bring.

See you tomorrow!

I will be there with my 15 foot Alumacraft so I won't need to be on the back of someone else's boat.  Never been on this lake and am looking forward to exploring and catching fish again with you guys!

Just got the boat out of the shop and thought I was going to make this one, until I looked at the bands calendar.  We are in Portland that night, so looks like I'll have to pass on yet another fish-in. Sad

Glen, it is time put it on your calendar and stop looking at your watch, time to live by the day and not the minute. Looking forward to seeing you at this fish-in!   Smiley

Boy I'd sure like to make this one.  It's been a long time since I fished that lake.  But I've tried to make the last 3 fish-ins without luck, so I won't know until the last minute.
