All right! The August night fish in at Lake Sawyer was a blast! Four boats, six members, and three guests showed up to put thier night fishing skills to the test.  It was cloudy so the full moon never got a chance to poke thru and really light things up, but all four boats caught fish and everyone had a good time. In boat 1 Thomas and his two guests from the Tri Cities managed to land some bass. Thier biggest being around a pound and a half. Then there was Hooter and his guest Dave. They each caught a bunch of bass and thier biggest was a 3.5 - 4.0 lb LM caught after our midnight meeting when Thomas and Says left. It was caught by Hooter. Then there was Says and Jeff I. Says' big bass wieighed in around 2.5 and Big Fish honors went to Jeff I With a 3.68 LM Smiley. Finally there was Christy and I. My biggest fish was also caught after midnight and weighed in at just over 3lbs. It was a Smallie. The water temp started at 72 degrees and ended up at 70.1 by the time we pulled out at 3:30 AM. There really was a decent number of bass that came out of this lake, and a good mix between LM and SM. I really was surprised we didn't pull anything bigger out, but I've heard 3 lbrs in lake Sawyer is pretty good these days, so I don't think we did too bad.

Thanks all who attended,
sorry for ruining your sleep patterns Grin

And bug spray!!! I went out there last night and got 5 but did'nt stick to top water baits like I should have biggest was 1-1/2 lbs....I wanted to go around 6 but the boat launch was full so I got on at 7 till 11...all mine were on Senkos of course but I did throw a buzz bait and a Lucky craft topwater...I think they are too big but I forgot my Heddon Baby torpedos and Pop Rs....Good Luck Ya'll!!! Grin

p.s.....yes bring hoodie and a towel as the dew soaks the surfaces on the boat by 10PM...and listen for the Raccoons ravaging the homes on the lake!!! they get to battling for goodies and trashing the garbage cans!!!

I thought I posted we'll be meeting at the launch at 8pm, but I must not have.

So we meet at 8pm Saturday at Lake Sawyer.

Remember it will get colder at night, so you might want to bring a coat.

Everything is still a go. Make sure to bring some munchies. I don't even want to try to cook chilli dogs in the dark. I can't wait to get out there. This should be alot of fun.  Smiley

Okay...here is a poss. glich...Lake Sawyer boat launch is closing August 15th thru Sept. 15th to replace the launch ramp....they are supposed to be putting in a panelized slab launch so we will have to watch and see if they start early or start setting up equipment early....I dont think they will move up the time as folks who live on the lake need time to take they're boats off before the closure....will post more if I see it. Larry.

So who is still in for the night fish in?

It should be alot of fun, unless it rains; in which case we should probably move the date. But as for now I'll be there on the 13th, at Lake Sawyer.
