Sorry I missed this one.  Man Rodney, that's a heart breaker.  I plan on making a trip here soon, I haven't been on St Clair in a few years.

The June fish in was alot of fun. Bass were caught by all anglers. Sorry for not posting sooner, my computer was having some connection issues thanks to one of my brothers. There wasn't as good of a turnout as I had hoped for, with only four boats, and seven members present. The weather was perfect all day with only a slight breeze, and plenty of sunshine and some clouds mixed in. The water temp ranged from 63 to 68 degrees, and was typical root beer color as the lake usually is. Although I have seen the main lake pretty clear at times. Larry and Darryl teamed up and caught alot of fish including some large trout. John G and Jeff I went together and both caught some bass. Rodney went solo, and caught a bunch of bass. He says he hooked the biggest bass of his life that day, and it went down into a submerged tree and broke him off Cry. I talked to Rodney before and he said his pb is 8 even, so that fish really had to be a giant! Then there was Christy and I who each caught five or six, but we were using bigger lures to keep off all the dinks. I caught the "big one" it was a two pounder.

Thanks again to all who participated
Next months excursion will be at Lake Goodwin up North
Hope to see ya there

Oh man, this fish-in is going to be great.  Too bad I can't go.  Hope there is a huge turnout, and a great report when I get back into town.

I went there on Sunday with Christy and caught a buncha bass. This should be a fun fish in. Our biggest one was around three pounds +or - that Christy caught. I hooked a huge cruiser that would have went 7+ but it shook me off. I've lost every big bass since I caught that 8pounder, I think someone put a curse on me Cry.  Ask Christy it was a monster. We saw some other really big bass in the shallows outside of bluegill/pumpkinseed beds that have at least 50 or 60 fish on them. We couldnt get those bass to bite though, I think they were full of bluegills. There are still lots of decent bass on beds too, and we only saw one school of hatched fry, they might not have even been bass but there were beds in the area. We only fished the low speed area and never ventured onto the main lake, but thats usually where I do  best.

See you Saturday with chilli dogs

The launch is fine for a 2wd. Its the people fishing on lawn chairs set up on the ramp; thats my problem usually. They usually make for a bumpy launch, but when they're not there its fine. Grin

Bummer !!!! Weddings are great, free food, drink and beautiful gals.  But this hardly compares with bass fishing!!!!

Well boaters, I'm counting on an available back eat for myself and my guest.  See you there.....

It saddens me to say I wont be there. Must go to the wedding of a kid who is almost like he is our own. Jeff, I apologize for backing out on you and Gabe.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Nightbasser

Excellent choice!  We've had many a successful fish-in there in the distant past during the height of summer.  Great way to get away from the jet and water skiiers.

I really wanted to go, but realized it's the same weekend I'm going to Vegas with Susan.  No, not doing that  Wink but we'll have fun for sure.  Good luck out there Dan and the Gang.
