Great fish-in.  It started slowly for me.  I looked in shallow areas for spawners, and found empty beds.  Lots of fry.  I tossed baits toward the fry ball and not once was a guarding male present.  So I started fish deeper,  outside weedlines that had good definition.  I then started to get better quality fish ( non guarding post spawners)  in the high 3 to low 4 pound range.  I used a variety of baits and presentations.  Dropshotting Basstrix Bluegill, 7" Powerworms ( I highlighted the tail due to the stained water) and Berkley beasts fished with a 5/0 Falcon jerkbait hook did most of the damage.  I boated 8 fish with 5lb 2.75 oz being my biggun.

I would like to thank those that made this great Fish-In, was a great day despite being sick. I thank Larry for the fever reducing meds, as I almost didn't make it but I had too. I thank Chris for being able to take the pics and posting them. I ask those that all caught bass please send me a private message with the number of bass caught and techniques/lures, so I may compile an accurate Fish-In Report for next months news letter. I had to sleep in this morning as I was still running a fever this morn and feeling yuck.

Had a great time at the fish-in.  Those who didn't make it out, you missed some great weather, and some good fishing.  I woke susan up at 9:30 with a frog fish that I lost at the boat.  I caught 2 more on a frog, and one on a jig.  All were 4.5-4.8 lbs.

Looks like the children's baseball schedule will allow Tyler and I to attend, Jared won't make it.  Not sure if we'll see you at breakfast or not but we'll see you at the launch.

I haven't heard of a no-wake time so we will have to read the rules sign when we arrive at the launch. I even cheched the the state web site: http://wdfw.wa.gov/lands/water_access/index.html, no restrictions listed. Not even for lakes I know have restrictions. We will obey any posted rules.

I had to go to Gig Harbor this evening for personal business and upon return when I paid my toll I asked about the toll cost when towing a trailer. Tolls = $4.00 per vechile and $2.00 an axle for a trailer. I have a single axle trailer there for it will cast me $6.00 to cross the bridge comming back to Tacoma.

I'm going for sure, but as far as the greenslip bass, I think Susan will pull it off.
