Got it working. I kind of thought that might  be the problem, just wanted to make sure.
   Thanks

With the new technology and the drive to get out to us consumers befor the compitition does we all must become more computer literate and learn how to do firm ware updates as they constantly are updated.

From what I was told Thomas is that you need to go to the Lowrance....(if that is the brand fishfinder you have) and update your unit to the new program by uploading a blank chip with the new program from their website and importing it to your unit and then put in your Navionics chip.....apparently with the new technology...which changes daily.....the unit must be upgraded regularly....still have to attempt mine.

Just purchased a 2010 Navionics Lake map for HDS -5. I put the chip in my unit but when I zoom in and out to see the contours, it takes forever to do its thing. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the remedy?
