Honestly I would shoot myself fishing 2 tournaments on Banks other than really early or really late when the fishing is a little better. Poor lake just gets the snot caught out of it. And struggling to catch a 2 pounder isn't fun for me. June is a bad time maybe since they get slaughtered by all the "T's" in May. Probably the prettiest lake around but the smallie thing has to be worked out!! There should be 4-6 pounders in this lake. There is definately food. Almost every fish I caught was spitting huge crawdads. Hopefully it turns around and changes my opinion.

Banks and Roosevelt are the only 2 lakes I can think of that would benefit from this, and I know you won't be getting much flack from anyone if we do so.  The WDFW encourages it ( on  banks and roosevelt anyways) for a reason.  I'm talking Smallmouth only of course  Kiss

Brian, congrats on the HUGE big fish, jeez that must of been fun.  I won't miss this tourny next year, hopefully 2 weekends at Banks thanks to the Dovers  Cool

Over the course of the tournament I caught an honest estimate of 10 dinks to 1 keeper.  I think a fishing contest to see who could catch the heaviest limit of 10 dinks would be fun. A dink would be a fish less than 12 inches.  Then have a fish fry.

Glenn, so if the Jamboree where to fish by state catch limits on small mouth bass the math would be, 160 anglers @ 10 fish/day multiplied by 3 days.... that's 4800 dinks.... Would that take a bite out the dinks?

It was 5.84, i think. You better check with Phil. Im still kicking my back side for not getting that 3 pounder in the boat, with 30 minutes left tell weigh-in.  Cry

Bryan, what was the size of your big fish?

That's like the only lake that I would keep smallmouths to get rid of some of the dinks in there.

Glen,

Now your thinking good-2400 dinks out of Banks could help quite a bit. Now add Roosevelt to that list and get rid of 24,000 dinks.

Anyone take home any less than 12 inch smallies, so hopefully we can catch some decent size Banks lake fish in the future ?

Good weights fellow members. A lot of us would have placed in the top ten at the FLW. I think that is saying something about the level of skill growing in the club. Good job. I am curious how the weights would have been if the largemouth restriction was lifted.
