Finally our Texan, better know as Trucknmusic, has seen something that doesn't grow as big in Texas.

That would be a Lake Kapowsin stump.

Lake Kapowsin was a great time for the 8-9 boats....14-15 anglers who came out...many reported catches in the first hour as the fog lifted

and when the sun broke through we all saw why the fishing got tough....Millions of fry littered the shoreline structures from 1/2" to 3 inches and with clearing bluebird conditions we had our job cut out for us....Myself...I broke off what would easily have been the big fish of the day...5+ pounds of largemouth with a second fish following it that was another pound bigger!!!
Jose Clearing his reel...

Cant get them all but Terry Steffensen, our Banks Lake Champion did boat the biggest with a 3+ (Forgot the weight Terry!!) Largemouth today!

Chuck Bailey caught a limit also but with no pics.

The Nightbasser crew boated two "Hogs"

Jose still clearing his reel...

Rodney stayed "Mr. Consistant" with a 2-1/2 pounder (Forgot that weight too!).

James with his 2Lb fish.

The weather was perfect as the temps approached 75-80 degrees and the water temps were staying 66 to 70.
Thanks to all who attended!!
Here is some beach pics...

Oh...and Jose is STILL clearing his reel!!

I might make it guys.  Been out of the loop for a while due to my divorce and all(don't feel bad, we're both better off).  I haven't been fishing all year and missed the spawn so it would be nice to catch my first pig sooner than later.  Depending on how late my event goes tonight I may try to get down there for the launch but breakfast is doubtful.  Hope everybody is doing well!

I would go Meridian if it is me (just don't speed).  I've taken that route a few times to head to some lakes in the early AM hours.  It should be fine.

Or take 167 to 512 to Canyon. Left (south) on Canyon to 176th, then left back to Meridian and out to Kapowsin.

Reality is that Meridian is just as fast at 6 am on a Saturday.  Starts getting bad about 8 am.  I'd just go all the way out Meridian from the South Hill mall.

(Can't be there this Sat.  Have to attend a family friend's memorial service).

Try 167 to 410 to 162(Orting), then take Orting/Kapowsin HWY right to the lake.  I live in Orting and it's only about 15 minutes away...

I will be coming to this but I dont know if I can make 4:30am breakfast  Shocked need my beauty sleep
Someone told me once there was an easy way to get there I normally take 167 to 512 then Meridian I hate taking Meridian because its so dam slow with all the stop lights It might not be as bad because it will be early on Saturday but if there is a better way I would like to know.

70 is warm enough!  I like lipped cranks after the spawn and lipless b4.  Figured water would be about 70 but read somehwere that this lake is colder and didn't know if they would still be in spawn.

Water is probably around 70 degrees, plus or minus a few.  Is that warm enough for you ?  People throw cranks when water is in the 50's, bring them Jon.

What is the water temp?  I am thinking cranks if the water is warm enough?

I should be there... looking for a B/S.  Let me know if anyone wants to partner up or car pool (I live in N. Seattle... so anywhere along the way works).

Also what should I tie on for this lake - never been there.

Thanks, Jon
