We had a GREAT time!  Good to see everyone and catch up, since we're unable to go to the meetings these days.  It was tough fishing for everyone, to be sure.  But the skill of the members came through, as everyone proved they can still catch 'em, even when it's tough!

Watching 3 grown men race each other for the ice cream truck was classic!  Grin

Oh here's a tip: If you're staying at a hotel, be sure to check out before leaving on the second day, otherwise they'll charge you for another day.  A wise, OLD man told us that!  Wink

thanks for the kind words everyone...well except brian  Wink.  i thought when we prefished earlier in the month it was tough but oh my not an easy task.  also i learned that although the water looks calm at the launch it changes slightly  Roll Eyes when you get below the last bridge.  my lower back is still sore from being slammed by those waves as our main spot was directly in the wind and waves.  fished reacton baits early and then rotated between those and plastics to muster up more fish.  we would fish through our stretch several times each usually resulting in a fish or two.

heres a little tip when fishing. i learned never set your rod down when your bait is in the water. at about 12:30 sunday with five small fish in the well thinking i had blown my lead.  i tried getting a granola bar from a compartment all the while shaking my dropshot and like clock work got bit.  landed a fish just shy of three pounds, and in the next five minutes culled up two other fish.  chalk it up to luck or just being observant not really sure  Cheesy

Great weekend!  I also salute the winners... and the club for a wonderful time.  I got to go over with Thomas and Patty, and stay with their family, and fish out of Thomas' boat - first class all the way!  And thanks to Angie and Henry for giving me a ride home on Sunday - truly appreciated!

Like Phil, we also took the rough run on Sunday over 4 foot waves.  I'm sure I left a kidney somewhere along the way back.  We hit one huge wave so hard the passenger seat broke.  But thanks to Thomas I learned a lot on my first Columbia River trip.

To our tournament director, Phil, I thankyou!  Great job, great tourney!

I only get to go to one tounament a year, but each one reminds me that we have a great club made up of really neat people.  WBC is one of a kind!  Thanks again to all!

Also a very fond THANK YOU to the Maciel Family for some of the very best food I have had in a long time......brought me back to my childhood in the San Fernando Valley of California with all the flavors of Lime, Cilantro and Tomatillo that are such a staple in the Southwest.

Just talked with Larry and he told me that Troy made good on his hard work and bagged around 18 pounds to take away the first place plaque.  Phil made the run through heavy water and found a few fish near the dam to take second and I believe Larry said before he broke up that Keri has kept the pressure on by finishing third.

They were working the balance beam to separate ozs, with fish coming from a lot of different places.  I am sure someone from the tournament will be home in short order to help clarify things.  See you at the Fish-in next week, should be very interesting.
