I was there when the fire began. The fire crews could not get to the fire. They just sat there around Mardons waiting for the fire to get to them. From what we heard there was a couple staying at one of the remote sites and started a fire. The winds picked up, gusted and blew the fire all over the place.

The waters going to look different also. They were dropping it 1.2 ft per day when we were there.

Just saw a report from Potholes on another site and a 3300 acre brush fire just burned up the area around MarDons and the seep lakes.....saw a shot of a PT Cruiser that was destroyed and all the launches/campsites at the seep lakes were hammered.....might look kind of nasty when we get there next month! Apparently some Knucklehead shooting tracer rounds started it....DUH!!
