I just got one through our rewards system at work (same way I got a fish finder for the little aluminum).  If nothing else, it will make it easier to answer those calls from home while landing a fish (removing a snag Smiley).

Ray is right, they can't pull you over just for that, just like the seatbelt law.

Here is quote from the Seattle Times:

Violating the ban on handheld cellphones is a secondary offense, meaning police must pull drivers over for something else first — such as an illegal lane change. Violators could be fined $124, but it will be up to police whether to give the ticket.

The current law is a secondary thing, but after July 1 it is a primary, so they can stop you just for that!!!

I been driving a lowered truck since high school, haven't had much problems *knock on wood*.
I better watch the news and get a clarification on this law.  Always heard if you got pulled over for something and you were also talking on your phone they would add that to you.
If they pull people over for talking on their phone without a headset ONLY, they are going to need triple the police.

Chris- I believe that it is a secondary charge and they are not allowed to pull you over for just that....but maybe you forgot to signal when you changed lanes a few miles ago Huh  When I was younger and drove a lowrider pickup, I was pulled over almost daily for inspections???  I started to expect it whenever I was driving around Kent.

So they can pull you over for just that come July 1st?  Did they change the law where they had to have another reason, then they could add on that charge ?

Thanks for the reminder.  Is that plantronics one bluetooth?  Id would like to find a bluetooth one that doesn't light up in my ear and make me look like a cyborg.

When does the walking and gum chewing law go into effect?
