Well, I've been with Progressive since I bought the Nitro, my current premium because of my age, years of boating experience, boater safety card and no claims is only $16.67 per month!!
The Liability cover is normally $100,000/$50,000 for boats under 50mph and $300,000/$100,000 for boats over 50mph.
Joel, my guess is that your youth, the value of the boat, the amount of liability and its speed is what is giving you the high premium. I hope you find something cheaper but do be careful... you know what they say: "Pay peanuts - get monkeys!"
I have seen some specialist Bass Tournament Insurance sites listed on Westernbass.com - try them.

Joel,
That quote is way off $2100 . I only pay about $250/Yr for my 21 I Class 2006.

I was told $100K if the boat goes under 50mph, and $300K for anything over that.

Thats what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure. The Nitro was only about $200 a year through Progressive, but for some reason the new boat is going to be $2100. Seemed like a typo to me, but Progressive said thats what it should be and no discounts were missed?
Think I'm going to be going to Geico, they have the lowest quote so far. If I pay two grand a year I'll have bought the boat over again in 7 years

Joel,
For your new ride a minimum of $300,000 liability.
I beleive this is right.

Anyone know for sure how much insurance we need to carry to be able to fish in tournaments?
