Thats the funniest post I have seen in a long time and quite original. Those burgers look great. What a great idea. Well since the fishing was so good on thursday and friday warmest temps I found were 54.5 If you see smoke at the d**e you know where I will be.

Yup its going to be quite an interetsting Open this year here is what I found:

Fished thursday morning - Main lake 47-49, Lind Coulee up to 52, Dunes were at 51

Friday- Main lake at same - Dunes up to 54.5. Did not see one fish other than the one 4lber I got on a jig. Not one swimbait bite or crank bait bite.

Even the smallies were a tough bite. Bob and Jose stuck 14lbs of smallies on friday morning and only saw one largie.

Water levels are coming down as they have dropped a foot in a week. We are at May levels now.

Its going to be interesting - I guess I will have to break out the hot dog thongs, spatula, and my bib.

My ringer & I will meet you at the East end of the Job Corps Levee at 12:30 Russ.  We'll both have two cheeseburgers with grilled onions.  Make mine with mustard & mayo and my partner wants the works.  Don't worry bout refreshments, we'll have the chilled Diet Cokes with us.

Ok - first of all, there is no way you are going to get away with calling us Team "Dough Balls". We are forever Team Doe Balls. I always like to stick to original spellings.

But that's not important. What is important is that I just got home from work and was doing one of my favorite activities, sitting on the crapper and flipping through a Bass Pro Shops catalog, when I thought of you. Check out this bad boy!!!



It is a propane grill, that, get this, fits into a pedestal seat mount!

It instantly made me feel a whole bunch better inside because I have been worried sick since all this smack talk started. I've been worried about what you are going to do with all this free time on your hands while you flip and pitch aimlessly through the sand dunes. What the heck are you going to do all day when you only get a bite or two?!?!

Well, now you can grill. Think how proud your family will be when you come home.

"Hi, honey! Catch any fish this weekend?"

"Nope. But guess what? I grilled 3 hot dogs and a couple of burgers... all by myself!!!"

"We are so proud of you."

It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about that Kodak family moment. See? =>   Tears of joy, mind you.

Was out there today, highest I found in dunes was 48F at 3PM on a fairly warm day. The rest of the lake 45-47F. Mesenberg said the fishing has been off due to their funky winter they have had....still looking for a partner!!

I feel the need for some major smack down.

I predict that we are going to whoop all your arses at this event. 

Especially the team of Team Dough Balls " Sarge/Steff.

The good news is that the weather forcast over there for the next two weeks is calling for at least average temperatures. High 50's to low to mid 60's. Hopefully there will be a couple of warmer days mixed in there somewhere.

Jerkbait, let it sit for a week and a half. Then twitch twitch, Then BAM, the fight is on.

Either that or Russ will break out his new found friend, swimbait.

You may be right on that temp deal- But I have a trick that will treat those bass with and a large livewell for them to go into.
