Day on the lake is back on ESPN2 at like 3am... def. one of the better shows on.  There is def. a lot of work that needs to be done w/ the fishing programing though.

I've got DTV and TWO DVR's.  But as usual, ESPN cuts the fishing show, no advanced or day of notice that fishing was cancelled and replaced by Tennis  , so I too woke up to watch a tourney and was slapped up side the head with a racket instead.  BASS/ESPN continually cuts the fishing for something else.  You'd think with all of the channels that have, tennis could find it's own home, maybe like the GOLF channel.  My OLN under DTV was eliminated from even being offered.  I still have VS, ESPN, FSN, and OUT only for fishing.  I love Bill Dance, but since I left the south behind, most of his fishing relates to southern impoundments and doesn't offer alot for western fishing anymore.  And as for "Son" (you know who that is) and the others, they most often never fish out west.   We need some Western fishing shows (besides salmon, trout, etc).  Oh, well, Larry I know the pain, but like you said, it was good to the the "E" man on TV.  It was nice to see someone we fished with make it to the show....

All I can say is thank god I have Tivo with DTV I don't know how you guys can watch TV or record shows with out it.Pause live TV setup a seasons pass so I get all the fishing shows I want with one click. Skip commercials cuts a 1hr show to 40min.Record 2 shows at same time as I watch one that has been recoded  Only bummer is VS does not mark shows as repeat so I get the same ones over but no biggie I just set those up for manual record.If you have comcast cable I think they make a DVR also but IMO DTV deal is better all-round. Comcast will raise your internet bill if you don't have TV so just move to earth link cable all the same.

As for them cutting the shows well that sucks but I never notice cause I have about 20hrs of fishing show in my DVR now 
Fishing University LAME!!! Check out Hook N Look show. I don't know what channel or time cause I just found it in the search & started recording it.

i hear ya larry.  i can barely watch flw.  not much fishing coverage, too much angler profile, town tour, etc.

It was great seeing Aaron Echterncamp in the FLW TBF championship...have seen him at various events and he is a personal friend of the Harris Family...long members of WBC. He represented quite well this wonderful state!
Just cannot wait for the first event of the year!!!

So far this morning on VS, has given me an urge to fish Strike King shakey heads with Zero's. I learned from Bill Dance that trolling for bass in most tourneys is not allowed, Yum has the most advanced plastics available today. Can't wiat till 10:30 so I can watch Fishing University. At 11:00 on FSN will FLW Outdoors show case a bass tourney??? Last but least the In-Fisherman Critical Concepts will give me the strong urge to drewl over the Rapala line in my 2008 Cabela's Master Fishing Catalog and Bass Pro Shops. Then I'll just have to thumb through my new Gary Yamamoto catalog too. But the sportsman's show is comming soon to fuel our cabin fever.  I really need to go to my other computer so I can print out my membership application and become a full fledged member of WBC!!!

Ya that sucks.  I've forgot to set the VCR for months, but I was up at 7am and found tennis on.
I found out yesterday that I have channel 406 Outdoor now.  It used to be locked so I was pretty excited.  Watched a Skeeter Owners T from Lake Fork last night . There wasn't much info in the show, but it was nice seeing 8-10 lbers one after another at the scales.

I agree. Get up damn early to watch a BASS tourney and find fffnn Tennis. Who gives a rats ass about tennis

I have to agree Larry.  However, if you get the VS channel on Direct TV, they have most of the good fishing shows.  The Outdoor Channel covers the rest.  ESPN frankly can kiss off.    They have done absolutely nothing for the angler since they purchased BASS and their video coverage has steadily gone down hill.

This is really startin to bug me! for the last few weeks they have been pre-empting our fishing shows for, this week.....TENNIS! last two weeks before Comcast threw in a Seahawks magazine show without posting it!
I have given up on ESPN and Bassmasters shows. I really liked the way they filmed the tournaments and it made the winter somewhat bearable for us who cannot get out often so this chaps my butt!


Sorry for the rant but all I wanna do is sit down with my coffee and watch some fishin./////////////////COME ON SPRING!
