Fished Sawyer for a few hours today with a friend and on my very first cast I hooked into a pretty good size fish, but it came off halfway to the boat.  It would've been my first largemouth of the year.  I got a few more hits, but no hookups.  We targeted largemouths for the most part and even saw a couple cruising.  Water temp was at 58.

Fished Sawyer for 3 hrs today from 3:30-6:30 and landed a nice 4.1lb smallie early.  No bites after that.

HOLIC,

I agree nice fish. Was at Sawyer on sunday north bay at 53 degrees south end at 50. marked a ton of fish at 13 ft. Those smallies in the pic look like they are about to pop. As Kirk said smallies due spawn earlier (toads mostly) from what I have found.

At Potholes 3 years ago was catching 4-6lbers in 47 degree water in less than 3 feet of water.

Man I can't wait for the holes tourney.

Boat is getting wrapped next week-Yeeehaww.

Hey there BassAholic,
So that's what a smallmouth looks like!  Nice fish!  I remember seeing a few of those last year when the weather was warm and sunny and 70.  It's comin' guys.  Just a little longer............

Hey Larry I saw you message today I almost was going to go to Sawyer But I went to Meridian instead. Was tough fish cause no wind & blue bird sky but I got 2 Small mouth 1 was 4.5lb & the second was 4.4lb. I got the second one right as some guys in a trout boat were going by  so I asked them to take a pic for me. I love the look on there face when I let it go. I did spend lot of time playing with my new aqua VU cam I saw no fish on it. Here are the pictures of the footballs I got.

Well Dan and I ran into Larry and Mark and we got nothing from 7-12:30.  Water is warming up and I think the afternoon bite would've been better.
