Just about to renew my boat tabs. I thought I'd renew online, but wait, to have it mailed to me, I have to pay the $3 service charge from a local licence store, plus $4 for mailing service. Uh, that is $7 on top of a $35.75 licence fee, which includes $2 rapid transit tax.  That's 20% for the service of selling me the derned tabs. Not gonna happen. I suggest you don't fall into this plot.  The Government wants to tax us and then they want to charge service fees for the honor. Mail it back to the address on the front with a check, and go buy a bag of Senkos with your savings!

On top of that, they want my driver's license number, and the date of expiration. And they want my residence and mailing address. Since all that's on my checks, I just put "see my check" on both, put 2010 for the expiration of my driver's license, and checked the 'yes' box after that. I'm thinkin' they want more information than they need, and expect next year that they'll want my email address so they can spam me,  and SSI#, so they can delete my identity. Screw 'em!

OBTW, the form also says proof of insurance is required. My insurance agent sends me an annual proof of insurance letter so I can show it to comply with club requirements, but they don't send me a plastic card such as done for auto insurance. Does anybody get a wallet card for boat insurance from their agent? C&R, Steve
