Kirk,

I bet you are feeling good now about not betting on the best WBC team-Say side pot, huh??

Sunday was brutal-Had 6 bites myself and only one fish to show for it. I guess that is what I get for throwing 25-50 feet back in the lay downs.

Nick,

That two fish pattern is the sweetest innovation in tournament angling I have seen in some time. Kudos to you for this brilliant pattern.  Grin

Congrats to Larry and Bob,
Way to figure out the plan guys.  Go out and get a good limit of smallies, take the remaining time back in the dunes, try and get a couple kicker LM and THEN head to weigh in!  Your bag of Saturday smallies were your ticket to a hat.  Great Job!  Nicely done!  Have a plan, stick to it AND PROSPER!

Potholes Open Update,

Logston/Watts finished 28th and Baker Team 30th. Jack/Jesse 66th-Not bad for first OPEN.

It was certainly fun and good to see everyone.  Should have gone with Wolsky/Henderickson to Banks on Sunday.  The bite was horrible on Sunday.  Rising barometer probably too blame.  Can't wait to go fishing again, though.

Larry and Bob,

Awesome job!!! You guys kicked butt under really tough conditions and were on the same pattern as the winners! Many congratulations because you deserve it. May I someday have the privelage of being slapped by your fish.

Dave and I stunk it up with two fish on the first day weighing about 4.9 pounds. Dave lost a nice fish on the second day, and that was the only action we had. Those largemouth were tough to catch, and the smallies were maybe even harder to catch! Potholes in April is tough, but I'm going to continue to work at it because the payoffs can be awesome.

I think Russ and Mark had around 16 pounds (?) and narrowly missed the top 25.

Larry,

I'll add to that. Took 18lbs to be in the money. Baker/Chevy finished 1 lb out of it this year with 17lbs. Bite was aggressive on saturday- Lost two key fish a 4+ and a 3+ on saturday that hurt our chances for our top ten. Sunday bite was slow missed opportunities on 5 oout of 6 hits with just 2 fish for 6.07 on sunday. As far as the rest of the WBC'ers that were there here is what I know- Barr/Carlos stuck a nice female on a bed, Lyle/Ted I think were top 30 as well, No report from Jack/Jesse, a lot of zero's from 128 field.

Weather people way off again. Friday awesome seeing loads of 4-5lbers, saturday weather changed cruisers disappear to bushes in our area, sunday  fish got lock jaw.

Winners used Senko's for both days with 25lb sack on saturday.

Great raffle with several WBC raffle winners.

Allways a fun event no matter how you finish.

Water level came up 4 inches while there.

Well...it was a tough bite to figure out with the squalls and spring instability but Western was well represented with I believe 8 or 9 boats.
The winner caught 34+ pounds to take home $2.000 plus reels and rods!
650+ fish with no dead fish reported!!
7-1/2+ pound largemouth was big fish
Me and Bob in our first Open took 11th with 20.98 lbs (19.30 on day one!) for $100.00 and hats!
Great time at the Poker table...even though I sucked and was first eliminated!
Can't wait for next month!!! Wink Grin
