The key was to fish slowly for most of the guys a few weeks ago. Most were throwing their offerings weightless. Maderos threw sweet beavers quite a bit and took 3rd with a 12.5 lb average each day. The bite may have been slower for you for some reason and it's hard to compare days on that lake because the bite switches on and off quickly.

I know you guys don't get down here as much as you'd like so i thought i'd give a report..

Fished Silver Friday, started at about 6 am, first boat on the water.
First stop timber point started at the point and fished north fishing the vegitation and wood.. no bites..

second stop the rockpile across the lake got one tiny fish on a rattle trap.. fishes all the docks and rocks over to the lodge..

Third  stop  fished both piling rows with crankbaits and  some of the adjacent banks with senko's and jigs

Fished pads on the way out of each location with spinnerbaits and got nothing.

the wind began to howl so i retreated back into the long cannal with all the houses ( don't know the name)
flipped  sweet beavers for a while then about 3pm I finially picked up a bite in the brush. Seems the  males are picking out bed locations.  The bite really picked up as I  fished the red bushes at the end of the channel on the  near the main lake across from the boat ramp In about 45 minutes I got 6 keeper size fish ( 13-15 inches) and pulled my sweet beaver away from a three pounder that charges out of the brush as I lifted it over a twig..  had it been a tourney i'd have had a small limit of about 6-7 pounds.
anyway  that was my experience Friday...
