Cinqo de Mayo - Potholes

Out on the big res on Friday all day.  Good smallie bite, fair for largies.  On the water at 6:30 am.  Water temp was 58.5 and got to 63.1 by end of the day.  Largies I saw were completely skittish, save for two.  Burned a bunch of fuel to check out a ton of different locations.  Best bites were a spinnerbug in stained water.  Clear water fish did not want to play too much quite yet.  Smallies were on pretty good.  Crankbait bite was decent.  Best part was that it was calm and 79 degrees.  Still getting real chilly at night, as it was 33 degrees to start the morning.  Boat ran strong and I had my best friend with me.  PLUS was not at work. Kirk,

The LM should be on fire by tournament time. The skittish ones we found this last week were willing to pound plastics. Its going to be a good one. We did the same thing found some new areas I hadn't fished in several years that were holding some good fish.
Crankbait bite was on good for smallies in all areas including dunes.

Saw several big females up to 6+ cruising in less than 3 feet.
Man I can't wait.
