Ya - have you seen the list of replacements?  It's pretty funny, actually.

Since we have so many DICK's in our club, I removed that one.  Now you can say DICK on the forum without it being replaced by "thingy".  Smiley

Hey Glenn -

If I changed Moose's first name to Richard, would it still say "Thingy"??? LOL. Love that auto-correct feature. I feel like I'm using Microsoft products or something...

Thanks to everybody that attended! We had about 25 folks, and like Larry said, events take some time to break back in, so there will be more people as the years progress. I hope the tradition starts up again  Grin

Thanks to Larry for bringing extra supplies to the potluck, thanks to Chuck and Ron for early setup help and bringing supplies, and thanks to everyone else for bringing food and being fun people to hang out with. Next year I will do more chatting!

Here are the results for WBC's 2003 Master Caster contest (held at the picnic):

1st Place: Ron Hankinson w/ 19 points
2nd Place: Jim Owens - 17
3rd Place: Dennis Larsen - 11
4th Place: Tie between Larry Sullivan and Richard Fazakerley - 9

Honorable mention: Virgil Wilbur, Adam Harris, Chuck Pigue, John Harris, and of course,

Dick "Moose" Streater. with his spring-loaded spincast rod!

See ya at the 2004 picnic!!!

Re-Instituting an old activity takes time and next year we will have twice the attendance! and as for the park a big A.O.K. to the Vasa Park folks and especially to Chris for doing most of the logistics to get it goin.....Hope to see you all at the Columbia River as the Procraft machine will be bustin' some waves to get to your fish before you do!

Sorry I had to take the family and bail out early.  I mean to tell you that there is no pain like a cut cornea.  Caleb was especially bummed because he was wanting to show off his "Happy Gilmore" casting technique and accurary.  Anyway the pain is tolerable today and hopefully OK by Friday so I can go to the tournament.

For those of you that missed the WBC 65th Anniversay Picnic, and might I say there were alot of empty seats, you missed alot of fun, talk, great food, a little casting competition, a chance to see a boater who shouldn't be a boater and wasn't shortly after we all saw them almost cut each other into fish bait (it's a long, short story), then we even had some of the attendees catch and release some bass.

And yes, we got to see the Nationl Award bestowed on the WBC as Moose brought it in his famous Bass brief case, and by the way, used a very unique casting rod and got a bucket in one with his first shot.

SO, needless to say, we (about 20) were disappointed that the turnout wasn't far more with such a gourgeous day, some new boats and/or boat owners present, made it a great day.  Sorry, you missed it, it was fun and great for me to be back since surgery.  See ya at the next meeting.
