VP Tournament talk

Hello Floaters and Non-Floaters,

As the year starts winding down there is still some unfinished business. 1) Now that you've seen me in action doing the fish-in stuff, you've have had a chance to see how easy it can be, and how hard I can make it! For all those times you said "I can do that" I'm here to tell you that you're right!!! If I can survive 3 years of it, you can survive 2 years of it! So now that we're getting close to election time I will need someone to step up to the plate and get some fresh blood in the club… you don't really need any experience with this and it only (somewhat) requires 2 nights a month. There is one night of all you can eat at the board meeting, and then there is the general membership meeting that you go to anyway. It would be nice to see folks that have attended fish-ins/freeze-ins take over because you come anyway. Think about it!

I also wanted to give you some AmBASSador Program reminders for the next couple of months. In September, we will be replacing the usual Fish-In with the summer picnic. Look for more details concerning that event inside this newsletter. Make sure to thank Jim Owens at the summer picnic, as CAST for Kids is donating hamburger patties, hot dogs, coleslaw, and potato salad to the potluck.

In October we will be performing the ol' switcheroo. The annual WBC team tournament will take place the first weekend of the month. We will have an October Fish-In the third weekend of the month. The lake is yet to be decided, so keep an eye out in the next newsletter for more information! I would like to challenge veteran members to team up with new members at this year's team tournament. Just do it!

See ya at the meeting and at the tourney,

P.S. For those that ordered t-shirts and hats, I need you to see me at the meeting and put money back in my pocket. Also, please come get the tourney shirts that were ordered 3 month ago… I still have them.

Hey Western!

What about the weather at Roosevelt? How 'bout a nice float down the Columbia? First ....Shannon Wolski! Where have you been hiding??? Here she comes into the Roosevelt sunshine with her husband Mike scooting along on that new Stratos and she just tore up the field, handing Kirk his first defeat in three events with a ONE OUNCE WIN!! 17 lbs. 9 oz. for her, 17 lbs. 8 oz. for Kirk, and both were followed up by Bob Payseno with 14 lbs. 12 oz.

...and what a club… everybody pitching in as usual with the Thunderstorms pounding us in the middle of the night on Friday.

For the Columbia River we will be hitting the Lower Pool. This is the area below Bonneville Dam to all th way to the ocean (but there aren't many fish at Buoy 10, so don't brave the waves)!

We will meet at the Marine Park boat launch off of Hwy 14, west of hwy 205, near Fort Vancouver. Camping sites have been reserved for the club at the site mapped below. We will have the driver's meeting at the launch at 0600. There are a lot of fish in this fishery, but they are all hiding behind obstructions. Use care and caution!
