Silver Lake in April

Directions: From Seattle, drive approximately 2 hours south on Interstate 5. Take exit 49 and head east for about 6 miles to Silver Lake Motel and Resort. Their sign is on the right side of the road.

Silver Lake is around 3000 surface acres in size, with a strictly largemouth bass population. The maximum depth is only ten feet, and the lake is loaded with stumps, pilings, and lily pads. Be careful while running your boat, obey all 5 mph areas, and watch for marked obstacles. Shallow largemouth fishing can be a rare opportunity in Washington, making this an exciting lake to fish. It is almost a sure bet that someone will weigh in a largemouth over 5 pounds, or more likely a 6 plus! Look for a little more information on this lake in the April newsletter.
