Season's Greeting to all,
I hope this time of year finds all of you in good health and spirits. As 2003 comes winding down to an end, just a few things to mention. Raffle tickets are now available to buy and/or sell. A $1 investment buys a chance for a $350 Loomis/Shimano rod and reel combo. For every book of twenty you sell, your name will be entered in to a drawing for a new rod. Everyone will have an opportunity to make a contribution in the success of our only fundraiser of the year, which will end at the March general membership meeting. Make sure to set aside Saturday the 10th for the annual Western Bass Club banquet. Be sure and bring those new, still in the package crankbaits for the crankbait tree. If you find a couple extra dollars in your pocket, be sure and bring them to the banquet for the "best darn raffle" anywhere (on January 10th.) Another highlight of the banquet is the chance to sample all the different specialty dishes prepared by all the family's. January means one thing to sportsman in the area. Our cabin fever is temporally distracted by the Washington State Sportsman Show. This year the dates are January 21st-24th. Volunteer forms to man the booth will be available at the banquet as well as the January general membership meeting. It is a perfect opportunity to spend a few hours telling people about bass fishing, our club, and getting to see the show for free. This is also where a large number of raffle tickets are sold. Although, sales made at the show don't go toward an individual's ticket sales, thanks to Virgil it made last year's raffle a bigger success. In closing, don't forget to check with businesses that you patronize or connections you may have, for donations toward our banquet raffle. Keep your boat and tackle weather tight and now's a great time to do that dreaded reel maintenance. Doug Booth L-DBOOTH@MSN.COM
