Ambassador report

It was good to see the faces that we don't normally see once again at the Lake Goodwin Fish-in. Here is a list of those that Graced us with their presents (in no particular order): Ray Henning and his son Noah, Glenn & Kari May, Rich Loth and his Brother (don't remember his name) Don Baxter, Chuck Bailey, Richard Fazakerley, Mike and Shannon Wolsky, Dave Jarrell, And myself

Fish-in Facts:

  • We had 13 people show with 7 boats.
  • We Fished till noon and had lots of good food for our potluck.
  • No Fish were wounded or brought out of the water for this event.
  • Ambient temp. Mid 60's to low 70's
  • Water temp 48 - 53 degrees
  • Bright clear day little wind till noon then breezy with lots of boat traffic in the after noon.
  • Fish were seen in the shallows but very spooky.
  • Water clarity very clear (visibility about 11 ft).
  • Not very many weeds yet.

The next fish-in should be interesting as it is on a smaller than normal lake. Lake Morton is a good large mouth lake with lots of docks and little Bass Pressure. Its max depth is about 20 ft and should be heating up pretty quickly. I picked this lake because I think it would turn on sooner then the other bigger lakes.
I am really getting excited about this seasons fishing and now that I know what catching a fish feels like. I know what I have been missing all year.
